T&C units can be installed above or below* ground. They can also be installed partially above ground and below ground. Extensions are alsoavailable for installations that must be deep below ground, but need the top cover to be installed flush with the floor level or just below the floor level (with the use of a cast iron or steel cover and frame assembly).

Choose between T&C grease or oil interceptors. Both types come complete with flow control tees, internal removable baffles, covers, Neoprene gasketing, threaded fitting connections and anchoring nuts with S.S. bolts and nylon washers. Oil interceptors are modified grease traps that also included removable perforated baskets with baffles, one or two vent connections and an oil draw-off connection. These draw-off or vent connections can be ordered on grease traps, as well, at added cost. Fitting sizes can be charged on any units, if so desired. Other types of special interceptor are also available.

*Do not dump dirt or gravel on top of trap covers.

General Information:

Over one hundred thousand T&C HDPE and PP systems are already in use for many years, in all types of industrial, institutional and commercial applications. These polyolefin drainage, waste and vent (DWV) systems handle all types of hazardous (corrosive, toxic and flammable) wastes without failure. For the above reasons, many city and state plumbing codes specifically specify polyolefin interceptors, traps and separators for handling all types of "special wastes". Town & Country Plastics, Inc. is the leading producer of polyolefin interceptors, as well as many other inert plastic products (e.g., acid neutralizing tanks, large diameter pipe & fittings, chemical holding tanks, underground storage tanks, custom sinks, drains, etc.) for well over 25 years.

Two types of polyolefin interceptors are available from Town & Country Plastics: HDPE (high density polyethylene) traps for temperatures up to 180 degrees F continuous use/212 degrees F intermittent use and PP (polypropylene) traps for up to 212 degrees F continuous use. (HDPE units are also ideal for extremely cold installations.) In most cases, the HDPE traps will surpass performance requirements and PP traps will meet the severest requirements. In comparison, both HDPE and PP traps are superior to competitive traps made of cast-iron, steel or concrete. This is even true if the cast-iron, steel or concrete units have expensive coatings of epoxy, porcelain, enamel or bitumous. All T&C traps are totally "acid resistant," inside and out.

Function:

T&C polyolefin interceptors are designed to trap, intercept, filter out and separate greases, fats, soaps, oils, cheeses, waxes, and other light substances that can be trapped via "THE FLOTATION PROCESS." Most health and plumbing codes already require installation of such interceptors, wherever industry, institutions or commercial establishments expect to discharge the above deleterious waste material into the sanitary drainage piping. T&C interceptors help to prevent stoppages, corrosive attack and accumulation of flammable materials within the building piping system, as well as "over-loading" of nearby waste treatment facilities. With today's emphasis on environmntal pollution control and with the high cost of repairing piping systems, it makes sense to specify T&C interceptors to protect your environment and property. Ask about "Trap-Zap" bacteria for grease traps.

(Also ask about T&C sediment interceptors for trapping solid materials that may be discharged into your piping; ask for neutralization/dilution tanks for treating chemical bearing effluents.)

Constructed:

T&C standard grease and oil interceptors are rectagular in shape; they are flanged at the top and are shipped complete with appropriate threaded fittings, heavy-duty matching covers, Neoprene gasketing and tainless stell nuts, bolts and washers. Only virgin polyolefin materials are used to make T&C traps. All poltolefin materials used conform to ASTM material specifications D1248-70 for HDPE traps and D4101 for PP traps. (Both traps are made in white color; but PP fittings for PP traps are black in color and HDPE fittings for HDPE are yellow in color.) Pound units and other shapes also available. All units include appropriate flow restrictor fitting.

All standard T&C polyolefin interceptor bodies are rotationally molded and are seamless in construction.
